i haven't heard kid cudi's whole (leaked) album yet... ...because i hate ruined surprises.
the singles i have heard, however, lead me to believe that this will be defining record in the history of hip-hop. in fact, i'm preordering it on vinyl. and i NEVER preorder albums.

"pursuit of happiness" is the 3rd official single, and it's possibly the most impressive yet.
interestingly enough, i was just reading an interview with cudi in urb magazine and he was talking about how greatly influenced he is by MGMT. i guess you can record with just about anyone when kanye's your homie.

they remind me that i have the inspiration to change something about a song, but not enough ambition to do a whole remix.

anyway, this is the 3rd track off of breathe carolina's new album "hello fascination".
at first i didn't really care for it, (via hating it) but after a while it started to grow on me.
it had wonderful daft punk-esq vocoding and a steady 130 bpm, but needed a little more danceability.

i really just made this to throw in my sets for all the lil' sceneyboppers, but thought i would share it with yallz, too.

even alleged "singers" use it cause it's "cool" (via 2k6).

you know when you hear a great song so you download it and listen to it all day every day for a week and then can't stand it anymore and compain about "over-played mainstream crap" whenever it's on the radio for years to come? that's what the industriez have done to a simple vst plugin.

i've been a fan of breathe carolina since before they were signed.
seem like cool bros. (via jerseys) saw them in concert once. it was like 100 degrees
and the venue didn't have a/c. everyone's hair was coming unstraightened, but it was
like all good cause we were all in the same boat and we knew that going to shows like
these were shaping our little alternative teenagehoods into what we wanted them to be.

anyway, something went wrong with the wiring or something so you couldn't really hear the singer very well, which was fine because i bet he ain't that great without autotune anyway. (isn't everyone?)

they've recently signed to fearless and their new record, "hello fascination", comes out august 26th.

He's not as "alt" or whatever as say, The Bloody Beetroots, but he's a good producer that maintains a nice balance of electro/house. Still kinda on the mainstream side of things though...

Kubik Berlin is one of the studio’s many Kubik installations which use large water tanks made from plastic and a metal structure. By adding lights to the tanks, they become a giant lanterns, able to provide intense diffused light in almost any colour. The particular installation was created in 2006 and used green lighting to create a temporary outdoor dance club. Men's Music, Girl's Haircuts

The fellow on the right is Oliver Sykes, the frontman of popular metal band Bring Me The Horizon. They've kind of set the standard in deathcore/metalcore/whatevercore today and continue to progress toward their own unique sound. Recently, Oliver has been quoted saying that he's starting a new project that "couldn't be further away from Bring Me The Horizon's music. And if you don't like to dance, you may not like it."

Stuff like this gets me excited. And there's some meat to this rumor as well. Oli's not a n00b when it comes to electronic music, as he had a electronic project back in the day called Olisarus. Maybe this time around it will be more club-friendly.

Steve Aoki. He basically runs the scene. He's friendlier than Tom and most definitely has better taste in music. All of that, and he has his own clothing line that's almost as ubiquitous as his own name.

He's currently on tour with the Bloody Beetroots across Europe. Crazy, filthy partying is sure to ensue wherever they go. Really filthy. Like, sweaty clothes from last week filthy.

If you keep up with The Cobra Snake, you have probably noticed that ol' Steve has been rocking the same jeans for the whole freaking tour. Now, to his credit, they are cool. Bleached detail and stuff. But something tells me he isn't getting to wash them every night. Maybe I'm a germaphobe, but that's just really gross.

Anyway, I would totally start a fundraiser to buy him some more pants, but he probably has tons of money anyway. This is something Mr. Aoki is going to have to work through himself.
